My Thanksgiving Day Prayer
Father, all through the year, I have asked you many times for various things, but today, and for now on, I want to continually give you thanks. Thank you Lord for being a great Father to me and for being my God, one who always loves me with all of my faults. Thank you for your Son Jesus, who redeemed me, who justified me, who sanctified me, who forgave me for my sins, and made me righteous in your sight because Jesus abides in me. Thank you, Jesus, for your life, your death, your resurrection, and your ascension to be with the Father on your throne of glory which affords me the opportunity to have eternal life. Thank you for your constant teachings through your word which enables me to walk in your path and not my own. Thank you for not abandoning me during my trials and tribulations that I endured due to me acting on my own and not consulting you. Thank you for holding me and carrying me through them successfully.
Thank you for my family, my friends, and my new friend and her children and letting me be a light in their life. Thank you so much Lord for my son, his wife, his mother-in-law, and their children who are an inspiration and blessing to me: on a daily basis. Father you restored a relationship I had deemed permanently broken. You not only restored that relationship but have solidified a bond between all of us that won’t be broken. Only you could do that Father and all praise, honor, and glory be to you. Thank you for my daughter and her family and the restoration of that relationship also. Thank you for all of her family, my grand children and great grand children whom I would have never known had you not restored that relationship.
Thank you Father for all your answered prayers, for a multitude of surprises and blessings, and for the building of happy memories with loved ones, friends, and my new friend and family. Thank you for all the people involved in protecting us: the police, the fireman, and for the people who work so hard, many in low-paying jobs, which contribute to my life and welfare through their services and work. Thank you for providing for my needs, in big and small ways, through them.
Thank you for the children in my life, their laughter and their smiles. Thank you for the beauty of the nature you created so miraculously here in Farmington and in New Mexico. The scenery is picturesque and more often than not, breath taking.
I am thankful for your blessing which are unreserved and undeserved. I give you my grateful and thankful heart Lord. I lift up my arms to you in praise, I speak honestly with a humble heart, my legs walk in your pathway and not my own, and my heart beats for you Lord. Thank you for times of healing, compassion, and grace, and for pulling me near to you through your word. Thank you Jesus for ascending into heaven and preparing me a place to live with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit one day. Thank you Father God for your salvation through Jesus and for offering it freely to my family, to my friends, and to anyone in the world who seeks it. Your agape love is unequalled and unsurpassed.
I am grateful for all things Lord, good and bad. Thank you for the mistakes I have made, as you have, through them, made me a better man. Thank you for the things in my life that I may never understand knowing that in all things, you have a purpose for them.
Please Father, let my life and testimony, be a comfort to others so that they too can experience your agape love, your forgiveness, and your shalom (peace).
From this day, and every day hereafter, in everything good or bad, my prayers will be one of gratitude and thanksgiving. I pray all my family and friends, and the people of this earth, experience your love, your shalom, and salvation. May it always be so Lord, now and forever. AMEN
